The 3-meter-high wall sculpture is made of oak.
Every time I have an important task - to make sure that work does not crack in an unexpected place. Often I hand over a job which will get used to low humidity and high room temperature compared to the outdoor conditions where I'm carving wood. In these conditions it becomes dry and deforming. That's way I've learned how to see that crack-points before and process them the certain way. In these places I'm deleting the slack part - where the crack starts appearing. The sculpture "Chord" demonstrates my approach very well, I removed all no-needed parts, but just in a few places “decorative” cracks has appeared.
"Chord" is presented in the collection of the "Yasnaya Polyana" co-working in St. Petersburg.
